- serenaCommentsAugust 21, 2025Such a unique film. I did not expect it to be so heartwarming. I absolutely loved it and I will be watching again. Ryan Gosling performed brilliantly. Story: 5/5 Staging and Camera-Work: 3.5/5 Acting: 5/5 Overall feeling: 4.5/5 Captivating: 4.5/5
- Cinemasandy8September 11, 2026That ending was so poetic. Bravo !
- Heidi HAugust 30, 2026I didn't have 'crying over a sex doll' on my 2026 bingo card but here I am. Ryan Gosling gives a beautiful, very believable performance of someone working through a mentally difficult situation in an unconventional way but it makes perfect sense. The entire cast was spot on. Bravo on an excellent film!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
- Dom LeonardoFebruary 5, 2026What a great story about a community coming together to help someone in need, granted the subject matter is alittle silly but this movie was touching through and through
- Mark HaywardAugust 1, 2026Memorable and funny.
- Liz BarrettJuly 26, 2026Very different role for Ryan G. I'm always on the look out for mental health type movies, and this definetly fit the criteria..
- macaronzJuly 16, 2026An absolute standout in Ryan Gosling’s early filmography, Lars and the Real Girl is a wonderfully unique and surprisingly tender film. Gosling is spectacular as the pathologically shy Lars, who introduces a life sized plastic doll as his new girlfriend names her Bianca to his deeply concerned brother and sister-in-law. But instead of being weird or creepy, the movie is incredibly sweet and funny. What sounds like a wild comedy is actually a deeply sensitive, incredibly touching, and funny exploration of grief and community. A total hidden gem that will completely win you over.
- inta94May 27, 2026very charming and touching yet very unusual story with great acting from ryan gosling.
- LonghornDeathDecember 30, 2025It was nice.
- thomasrogers753July 29, 2025I fear that I am Lars in the not so distant future
