The student Lara Babic is researching medieval writings in the monastery. When her body is found - on a timesheet on the commandment "Thou shalt not kill!" - the investigation into a mysterious murder case begins. Because the budding art historian did not fall down the library stairs on her own. Chief Inspector Bergmann considers everyone in the monastery to be suspicious - from the abbot to the prior to the strange Father Willibald. His colleague Anni Sulmtaler, on the other hand, has doubts about the moral strength of the good-looking novice Clemens, whom she knows from her youth. The detective duo has no illusions about the monastery patron Vogt, who "coincidentally" has his lawyer present during the first questioning. Did Lara find out that valuable writings were taken without the knowledge of the archivist? The code that Lara left in her work, however, presents the investigators with a puzzle.
