Despite her flaws, Lady Bird’s evolution into a goal-oriented young woman by the end of the film is incredibly rewarding to watch.
- James SaenzApril 12, 2026“i was on top!! who the fuck is on top their first time??!!” stellar film. my favorite character this time around is the football coach who takes over for the drama club. i was also the only one laughing in the theater, which is a shame because it deserves a roomful of laughs.

There are some genuinely great performances, funny bits and observations, interesting characters, but it never comes together in quite the way it should. I think the main issue I have is pacing. Despite being a dialog driven character piece, the movie moves at break-neck speed and never gives the audience time to breathe or reflect on anything that happens. There are emotional bits that really need space to land, but don't because we're already onto the next.
