Als ein Freund von Supercop Kung Fury von dem gefährlichsten Kung-Fu-Master-Verbrecher aller Zeiten, Adolf Hitler aka Kung Führer ermordet wird, beschließt der eigenwillige Polizist, in der Zeit zurückzureisen, um im Nazi-Deutschland das Schreckensreich Hitlers ein für alle Mal zu erledigen. Doch ein Fehler bei der Prozedur katapultiert ihn noch viel weiter zurück in die Zeit der Wikinger, von wo aus er einen Ausweg finden muss, um mal wieder den Tag zu retten.

David Sandberg directs and stars as Kung Fury, a cop with superhuman martial arts skills who travels back to Nazi Germany to defeat Adolf Hitler, aka Kung Führer. The plot? Doesn’t matter. The vibe? 1980s arcade fever dream meets VHS action parody. There’s Thor, Triceracop, laser raptors and a sentient arcade machine that goes rogue. The soundtrack slaps, especially David Hasselhoff’s “True Survivor,” which deserves its own entry in the synthpop hall of fame. The effects are deliberately retro green screens, pixel explosions and glitchy transitions that feel like they were rendered on an Amiga with LightWave 3D and a six-pack of Jolt Cola. I loved it for the sheer audacity. It’s the kind of movie that made adult years feel neon, absurd, and gloriously over the top with kung fu, Nazis and a hero who punches time itself. I am waiting for the sequel that has been anounced
