If this was trimmed by 45 minutes or so I think it could've been a masterpiece. I watched it with kids and they loved it.

Beyond all the special effects, he leaves a soul on screen with the immense talents of Andy Serkis and Naomi Watts. It’s not a perfect film, but what’s done right is pure, thrilling, and ‘beautiful’. This King Kong shows us connection and heart like never before.
