King Kong

New York, 1933. Durante la Grande Depressione la fame di fama conduce una troupe cinematografica su un'isola misteriosa per girare un film spettacolare e avventuroso. A bordo della Venture salpano Carl Denham, regista ambizioso, Ann Darrow, un'attrice esordiente e Jack Driscoll, un drammaturgo intellettuale prestato al cinema. Durante una tempesta la nave si incaglia sugli scogli dell'Isola del Teschio, una terra fuori da ogni mappa e governata da un colossale scimmione, Kong, a cui viene offerta in sacrificio la bella Ann. Gli uomini della Venture, nel tentativo di salvare la fanciulla, cattureranno Kong e lo "trasferiranno" a Manhattan per esibirlo come fenomeno da fiera. Ma Re Kong spezzerà le catene e scalerà l'Empire State Building ghermendo di nuovo la bella dai capelli d'oro.

If this was trimmed by 45 minutes or so I think it could've been a masterpiece. I watched it with kids and they loved it.

It’s not a perfect film, but what’s done right is pure, thrilling, and ‘beautiful’. This King Kong shows us connection and heart like never before.
