Jeronimus is a peeved and surly husband and mayor. He will not allow a Christmas party to be held in his house, as he finds the custom distasteful and loosely obscene. Slowly, however, he is persuaded by his sister Magdelone and by the schoolmaster. His lush young wife finds special pleasure in the Christmas gathering. TV adaptation of Holberg's 1724 comedy.
