Johnny Dangerously Ratings & Reviews
- RichardDecember 7, 2025I first saw Johnny Dangerously on pay TV back in the 80s and it was one of those quirky comedies that stuck with me. The film’s parody of gangster movies, with Michael Keaton playing the “honest man turned reluctant criminal,” had a mix of slapstick humor and clever wordplay that felt different from the usual crime stories. Watching it on TV gave it that special charm, you didn’t stumble upon it in the cinema or on VHS, but rather caught it as part of the broadcast lineup, which made the discovery feel more spontaneous. The exaggerated characters, the running gags and the playful tone made it a fun watch, even if it wasn’t a huge blockbuster. Looking back, it’s one of those films that captures the spirit of 80s comedy: lighthearted, a little absurd and perfect for a casual evening in front of the TV.
