- ርልዪረ27 janvier 2025/̵͇̿̿/’̿’̿ ̿ ̿̿ ̿̿ ̿̿ ̅̅ I don't know why I loved this one so much more than the first two. The John Wick films are all of course very stylish, atmospheric films. However in my opinion, Chapter 3 is leagues better than its predecessors. The fight choreography was absolutely brilliant. There's so much action going on but it all feels like they put so much thought and time into it(which I'm sure they did), and the end result is just... beautiful. I personally loved the way the movie was shot with the darker and occasionally neon color palette, and those gorgeous city shots. It reminded me of Blade Runner's aesthetic. All the actors look super cool, thanks to some incredible makeup designers; give them a raise, they really outdid themselves. This movie is the epitome of coolness, that's the best way to sum up my thoughts on it. An absolute must watch for action and arthouse fans. I wouldn't argue with anyone who calls it a masterpiece either.
- makdelart17 février 2026A film full of absurdities related mainly to the existence and functioning of a secret organisation. I don't buy this idea at all. It's neither James Bond nor Mission Impossible. Grandma recites ‘Excommunicado’ and the world turns into John Wick's killers. The entire series suffers from plot paralysis, which can only be swallowed if treated as a pastiche of action films, although everything is so pompous that the creators probably created it seriously, and that is probably the biggest flaw of this franchise. The best parts, the fight sequences, are repetitive, with crude CGI, and become boring in the long run. They can make loads of these ‘Wicks’, but what's the point?

Compared to 1 and 2, this one just does not land for me. I’ve watched it multiple times and have enjoyed it, but I could not tell you why this one just misses the mark.

All the action sequences for the franchise could be compiled into a twenty minute short with nothing lost. Shame. I like Reeves. This is what you get when the director is a stuntman. The franchise gets higher rates than it deserves because modern (young audiences) aren't as discerning - they like low-attention-span stuff that doesn't require critical thinking. Why am I complaining about the audience and not the movie? It's the audience that have elevated the franchise well above where it should be. Some people have rated this five stars as in the best of movies. Go watch movies from Spielberg, Scorsese, Tarantino, Kubrick, Nolan to recalibrate your judgement against what a superb movie is and stop artificially inflating movie ratings so that more people waste their time with mediocre filler. It isn't a choice between action and good drama, the two can coexist in a movie.
