Sky: The Coming Race
Directed by Timo Vuorensola- Zokkiie14 de enero de 2026Where the first film felt like a messy but confident B-movie, this one tries to do everything at once — and it mostly collapses under the weight. The visuals are occasionally impressive, and there are flashes of the absurd humor that made the original fun, but the jokes rarely land and the satire feels heavy-handed. The story is overstuffed, the characters are even thinner than before, and the pacing is chaotic. It’s loud, weird, and occasionally amusing, but it’s hard to find the same charm or energy that made the first movie enjoyable. A lot of ambition, very little coherence — messy nonsense that’s more tiring than fun.
- Richard19 de octubre de 2025Saw this one after the original, curious, hopeful and ready for more Nazi moonbase absurdity. What I got was a wild ride into Hollow Earth, reptilian overlords and dinosaur cavalry. The setup? Earth’s nuked, the Moonbase is humanity’s last refuge and buried beneath the wasteland lies a power that could save, or destroy what’s left. Lara Rossi leads the charge as Obi and Udo Kier returns in double duty as both Kortzfleisch and Hitler (riding a T-Rex, no less). The Vril, an ancient shapeshifting reptilian race, are the new big bads and they’ve got style. The effects are ambitious, the satire is louder and the plot? A fever dream of conspiracy tropes, sci-fi pulp and political parody. It’s not as tight or charming as the first. The tone wobbles, the pacing stumbles and the jokes don’t always land. But it’s got heart, chaos, and enough visual madness to keep you watching. I liked it for the ambition, the sheer “why not?” energy and the way it made adult years feel like a conspiracy theory binge with popcorn. I was hoping Iron Sky: The Ark would complete the trilogy, but the company declared bankruptcy in 2019.
- jackmeat22 de diciembre de 2024My quick rating - 5,2/10. Twenty years after the events of Iron Sky, the former Nazi Moonbase has become the last refuge of mankind. Earth was devastated by a nuclear war, but buried deep under the wasteland lies a power that could save the last of humanity - or destroy it once and for all. The truth behind the creation of mankind will be revealed when an old enemy leads our heroes on an adventure into the Hollow Earth. To save humanity they must fight the Vril, an ancient shapeshifting reptilian race and their army of dinosaurs. It doesn't quite have the flair of the first one but is still entertaining. Sure, the Nazis were hiding out on the moon, but after that base was destroyed, the truth about the Earth is up next. Funny flick that continues this story and worth a check, especially if you enjoyed the first one. Next up, MARS.
