The plot feels reminiscent of Rocky 4, offering plenty of fun but little substance. The British actors' performances are unintentionally laughable, but the martial arts are still a highlight.

- Pivorock4d agoThe first Ip Man movie is an exceptional historical drama. While I do not know how much of the story these movies portray is factual, it remains a story about hardship and working through it. This movie is the Chinese Rocky 4, practically beat for beat, but with China and America rather than America and Russia. The fights are still entertaining, but the story is not quite as engaging as the first.
