Sally lives with Gransha, her grandmother, on a farm in Cheshire. One day Sally and her friends Spikey and Patch discover a bottle containing a genie who will obey their every whim - which is rather handy as Gransha is in danger of losing the farm. At the same time scientists at the nearby space telescope at Jodrell Bank pick up evidence of a dragon being in the area. Sally and her friends decide to track down the dragon to find out its demands and see if these can be used to help them and the genie save Gransha's farm.
