Implosion: The Titanic Sub Disaster . It' was one of the better people documentaries,. The interviews were absolutely genuine. Showing all of leading events. Brings up questions very subtle about the CEO. What was his real intent.

What lingers most is the sheer helplessness of it all. The families who waited, hoping for a miracle that would never come. The final moments of the passengers—silent, unseen, a life-ending collapse in the crushing darkness. Implosion is not just a story about a doomed submersible; it's a grim reminder of human fallibility, the high cost of unchecked ambition, and the tragedies that unfold when warnings are drowned out by confidence. It’s heavy. It stays with you. And it’s a painful watch, knowing that it could have been prevented.

This isn’t a bad documentary, but it pales in comparison to Titan: The Oceangate Disaster. This show suffers from later documentaries on the History Channel - where every “poignant” event is spiced up with loud music stings and serious music - which ends up happening so much that it loses it’s effectiveness, and just becomes annoying. It’s still a slightly different angle on what we have heard on others documentaries, so for that it’s worth watching.

Of course I am familiar with the tragedy that befell the Titan submersible and those inside it. And thus, when I had the opportunity to watch this 2025 documentary "Implosion: The Titanic Sub Disaster", of course I opted to do so. I harbored no expectations to this particular documentary, as I had in effect put the memories of this event so far away in memory that I no longer thought about it. Only by stumbling upon the documentary did my mind get reminded about the implosion and the tragedy. And of course I have my own opinions of Stockton and OceanGate. Writer Gary Lang and director Pamela Gordon put together an insightful documentary that delt with the matter of the implosion in, what I believe to be, a neutral and objective manner. The documentary did put a lot of things out in the open that I was not aware of. But then again, I didn't really closely follow the incident back when it was on the news. I only kept up with in peripherally. Watchable, sure. Informational, sure. The 90 minutes of this documentary were actually well-spent. Not something you watch more than once, though.
