Christmas is supposed to be a time for peace and joyful family reunions. But when Matt and his wife Karen show up unannounced at the home of his estranged brother Steve to celebrate the holidays, they are instead greeted with a horrifying surprise: trapped in the basement is a man. But not just any man. Steve believes that his hostage is none other than the devil himself.

My quick rating - 4,5/10. A man descends into paranoia after trapping what he believes to be the devil in his basement, but things take a dark turn when his family unexpectedly arrives for Christmas. An overdrawn Twilight Zone episode. But not as good as they are. Trim it down to 45 minutes, put it in more capable hands, and come up with something a bit better for an end. I thought of about 4 which sounded better.

This movie was such a missed opportunity because the concept of I Trapped The Devil 😈 is very dark!!! The whole atmosphere and tone of the film was great and the dialogue was surprisingly good, the acting from all 3 of our lead characters was also very good & believable, but ultimately where I Trapped the Devil falls short, is the whole utilisation of the entity itself. And this is one of those times, where they were trying too hard to lean into the less is more and leave it to the viewers imagination tactic it just doesn't work, because they clearly show at the end that its passing itself off as a little girl so they more or less reveal it to us and more importantly how the hell did the entity manage to change its host from a grown man into a little girl or a young woman supposedly, the point is it wasn't a grown man that walked out of that door at the end either way that's a plot hole right there. They built up the tension mystique & suspense so well, which makes the ending feel all the more disappointing it's like after all of that sense of dread vibe it had going on in it as well and when you get to the last 20 Mins of the film, your thinking to yourself as the viewer watching & invested the entire time really that's it. And that's the very & main issue I have with this movie, that it promises so much and then delivers very little in the final act!! Again just such a big disappointment & a missed opportunity, because this film had so much going for it that, it feels like it didn't fulfill its true potential. All in all I Trapped The Devil 😈 is a film that had so much going for it, but ultimately fails to stick the landing that the whole suspense & build up to it deserved and my ratings for this movie 🎬 is a 2.75 out of 5🌟 & a 5.5/10
