Where to Watch Hit Man
- vangh1December 23, 2024I rented this for free with a rental code I was given from a combo I got while going to Twisters so it's the completion of a Glen Powell combo, and It. Was. Glorious. Im a big fan of Linklater. I'm a rapidly growing fan of GP. I'm insanely tantalized by the thesis that hitmen only exist in fiction and police exploit that myth for sting operations. This is like, pretty good and steadily enjoyable, and then becomes unreal good at the end. It takes three things to kill a man: 1) The gun 2) The bullets 3) The balls And I've got a massive stockpile of all 3! *Nut shot*
- VarunOctober 19, 2024I don’t watch a lot of romcoms but this is the best I’ve ever seen. Glen Powell is absolutely brilliant in this, flexing his full range of acting skills and probably giving the best performance of his career. It reminded me of James McAvoy’s performance in Split (2016), however here there were even more roles and each one is played to perfection. The plot was really smart and unique. The movie was entertaining throughout while exploring many themes like the murky ethics of entrapment, how easily a person’s actions could be nudged in different directions, the fascination of doing field work as a psychologist and all the surprising challenges it brings to mere theory, the enticing quest for love amidst danger, the choice we sometimes have to fashion a persona in some areas of our life while in others we are completely slave to our brain patterns and emotions, how we are entrenched in viewing others through our narrow lens and our biases making us suspect to exploitation, etc. The pacing, comedy, dialogue, sensual romance and suspense were all tuned perfectly. I had so much fun with this film and I highly recommend everyone to check it out!
- wonderrxjrJanuary 7, 2026Oh I LOVED this so much Glen you are insanely good!! I want to imagine this is just Glen doing 20 different audition tapes to do different roles, but then lands on being a Tom Cruise typecast for the rest of the movie (which is fine he fits the mold good). I just loved their relationship so much it was so cute and awesome
- MR_BigTimeDecember 29, 2025I went in not expecting much more than a chuckle here and a giggle there, but much to my surprise, I have to say that Hit Man is probably one of the best if not the best romcom that has come out this decade. Powell and Arjona are wonderful together, and mostly in the last few minutes I got some Negan-esque vibes from Amelio. Would defiitely watch again.
- Kevin WardJuly 1, 2025Finally caught up with this one and it was pretty much as fun a charming as expected. Love the premise most of all. The film feels like a throwback in it’s almost absurd conceptualization (despite the ‘based on a true story’ designation). Powell’s charisma jumps off the screen and Arjona is equally alluring every moment on screen. Linklater’s script actually kept me guessing almost up until the end. Some of the early scene’s of Gary playing different kinds of hitmen got a little repetitive, especially since they all turned out to be completely extraneous. I would have cut some, and perhaps extended some others to have them tie more into the narrative. I’m nitpicking, though. It was a great watch and fun one to watch with the wife.
