Come for the action, stay for the existential melodrama. A true work of art that I'd recommend to anyone.

This is a movie that keeps you glued to the screen especially through the way it tells the story in the way some of the scenes are filmed. Its rare to see films able to convey such a sense of urgency and impressiveness through camera angles and action shots. Al pacino def in his prime in this movie. A movie that runs like a game of cat and mouse. This is a cult classic for a reason.

In Los Angeles treiben der Berufsverbrecher Neil McCauley und seine Bande ihr Unwesen. Obwohl perfekt geplant, ging ihre letzte Aktion schief und der knallharte FBI-Agent Vincent Hanna wird auf die Bande aufmerksam. Da Hanna das Team auf frischer Tat ertappen will, schlägt er erst bei einem groß angelegten Banküberfall zu. In der folgenden Straßenschlacht zwischen der Polizei und den Verbrechern wird McCauleys Team zerschlagen. Obwohl McCauley zunächst fliehen kann, kommt es schließlich zum finalen Duell der beiden Vollprofis.
