Sure Burton and Nolan brought the Dark Knight to the cinema but it’s Bruce Timm, Paul Dini, and the amazing cast and crew that was assembled that made BTAS the gold standard of comic book adaptations. Brought to life by actors like Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill, Bob Hastings, Efrem Zimbalist Jr, Ron Perlman, Adrienne Barbeau, and the iconic Arleen Sorkin just to name a few. These voices brought the citizens, criminals, and heroes of Gotham City to life giving them their own distinct personalities that made them engaging and rich characters. The very underrated Shirley Walker composed music that thrilled and enchanted fans. From the rousing fanfare at the start of each episode to each villain having their own distinct theme, Walker put in the work that does not get enough credit. The documentary is a nice walk down memory lane for longtime fans, the time, love, and care that went into the creation of each episode. This documentary is a love letter to the animated series and all those involved. This is a must watch for any longtime Batman fan.
