Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers Ratings & Reviews
- gingerman512June 19, 2025It was so good it’s insane they could make a movie this good back then. It’s probably my favorite horror movie! And damn that gore.
- LivewireAdminOctober 22, 2025After the surprisingly solid rebound of Halloween 4, this one feels like a stumble down the stairs of the Myers' house. The tone wavers between serious slasher and unintentional parody, and the plot spends so much time setting up psychic connections and mysterious figures in black that it forgets to be scary. Danielle Harris once again gives it her all as Jamie, but even her commitment can’t save the messy pacing and baffling creative choices. I had to look it up but Harris was 10 years old when she took over the Halloween franchise from Jamie Lee Curtis. Blows my mind that she was able to step into those shoes at such a young age. Michael’s still doing his thing, but it’s starting to feel like he’s showing up more out of obligation than menace. He's also clearly unkillable at this point so I have no idea what the next entry has in store. letterboxd: FilmPhanPA
- JORDAN JONESOctober 15, 2025Despite it not being Resurrection bad, however it doesn't change the fact that this a shit Halloween movie nonetheless, that completely ruined the movie before it and where they decided to go with it was ridiculous, there was no hint of the men in black and the cult of thorn in Halloween 4 at all, that makes no sense story wise, plotwise and logically, this installment was the start of the decline for the Halloween franchise.
- ZokkiieAugust 17, 2025Kinda messy follow-up that never quite lives up to the suspense of Halloween 4. Danielle Harris does a solid job as Jamie, but the decision to make her mute for most of the movie hurts the pacing. Michael’s mask looks off, the plot meanders, and the “Man in Black” subplot feels confusing rather than intriguing. Still, there are a few decent kills and moody atmosphere that remind you why Michael is iconic. Not terrible, but definitely one of the weaker sequels.
- Carlos IbarraApril 10, 2025Such a horseshit sequel. I've come to enjoy it, strictly because I grew up with it and have seen it a hundred times. But for them to drop the ball soo hard after that amazing last entry, is basically a sin.
- The Gutter MonkeyOctober 24, 2024There's some interesting characters in there, but it was a confusing story brimming with loose threads, inexplicable magic, and unfleshed out ideas.
