Gunfight at the O.K. Corral
Directed by John SturgesAfter a long career as a lawman that made him a legend, Wyatt Earp (Burt Lancaster) decides to quit and join his brothers in Tombstone, Arizona. There, he would see them in a feud with the Clantons, a local clan of thugs and cattle thieves. When the showdown becomes inevitable, the help will come from Doc Holliday (Kirk Douglas), a terminally-ill gambler who happens to be another Wild West legend.

Gunfight at the O.K. Corral Ratings & Reviews
- eif999July 4, 2025First, watched in 4k and OMG. It looks so good with that film grain and vivid colors. Even if you don't like the film you will be pleased by the images. The acting is very 50s. Movie acting has evolved, but some of these 50s films are just trying hard to be Tennessee Williams plays. It's almost unbearable at times. But look, this is probably (correct me) the first to tell the tale. (I was waaay off. The Wyatt Earpe story was done first in Frontier Marshal and later and greater by John Ford My Darling Clementine) Tombstone is the best, which is amazing since I remember that film being dismissed hard when it came out in theaters. Lancaster and Douglas are very cool and both could ride. Douglas is probably miscast because he is at the peak of his fitness. That cough isn't fooling anyone. Get past the indoor talky parts and you have a hell of a western.
- Mister ArnMay 16, 2025This movie is not really the story of the Gunfight at the OK Corral, it's more about the bromance between Earp (Bert Lancaster) and Doc Holliday (Kirk Douglas). If you're looking for a movie about the gunfight at the OK Corral, you should look elsewhere.
