It captures real, emotional moments with a level of authenticity rarely seen on screen, and it pays a heartfelt tribute to both the creator of Gran Turismo and the legacy of the franchise. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or someone who’s never even heard of Gran Turismo, this is a powerful, entertaining movie that stands strong on its own. A must-watch for racing fans and underdog story lovers alike.
- LD_50October 19, 2025Gran Turismo dares to show just how easily a racing movie can be both boring and uninspired. From surprisingly dull cinematography from Neil Blomkamp, poor writing with an even weaker protagonist, to an uninteresting plot, it is highly questionable that those involved in the production wanted to tell this story and do so in the this manner. What is unsurprising, however, is this being a poorly shrouded advertisement for Nissan, Sony, and Gran Turismo. Despite being based on a true story, this movie offers nothing besides telling an out-of-order story of a gamer turned driver that actually turns out to be even more underwhelming than the actual events it is based off of.
