But the evening takes a horrific turn when they discover a body sprawled in the living room. Panic erupts instantly as each character reacts exactly like their stereotype: the rich girl screeches about the mess, the jock tries to act brave, the surfer is too relaxed to process anything, the dumb blonde spirals dramatically, the emo is unimpressed, and the nerd desperately tries to calm everyone down. The story flashes back to earlier that day at school, where the teacher assigns the group project and we see each student's grudges and petty conflicts. Forced together despite their differences, they reluctantly head to Penelope's house-none realizing how badly the night will go. Back in the present, tensions explode. The nerd storms outside in frustration, announcing he's figured out who the killer is-but before he can finish, he's suddenly hit by a passing car. He stands up, miraculously alive, only to be hit again and killed. Shocked and more suspicious than ever, the group begins to accuse each other. Taking charge, the dumb blonde proudly declares herself the "detective" because she's "seen every horror movie ever." She explains classic horror rules... and the group promptly breaks all of them by splitting up. Strange noises echo through the mansion as different pairs explore: the jock and blonde search a bedroom, the surfer eats himself sick on brownies, the emo investigates a disturbing clue, and Penelope obsessively cleans to cope with her panic. Bodies begin to appear, phone calls from a distorted voice taunt them, and the killer's presence becomes undeniable. Betrayals, accusations, and screaming matches tear the group apart until only a few remain, clinging to each other in desperation.
