Goodfellas Ratings & Reviews
- Oʂɯαʅԃσ Rσყҽƚƚ6d agoNeeds to be seen to be believed; in one word: perfection. Every frame, every voice-over, every song - it all comes together at the exact right moment to create the perfect film experience. This film makes you really understand and feel what makes the American mafia so compelling; in the eyes of a kid, who was unfortunate enough to grow up in a tough neighborhood, those gangsters are rock stars. Live fast, die young

Martin Scorsese’s direction, paired with electrifying performances from Ray Liotta, Robert De Niro, and Joe Pesci, creates a gripping rise-and-fall crime story that never loses momentum. Its iconic narration, soundtrack, and unforgettable scenes make it one of the greatest gangster films ever made.

- LynneOctober 28, 2025"Stay away from the garbage if you know what I mean."
- StairwaytothestarsSeptember 24, 2025The movie showcases the lives and experiences of gangsters and their rise and fall in a nonlinear narrative.
- cferacoSeptember 22, 2025Goodfellas is cocaine-fueled cinema perfection, but it’s Joe Pesci who makes it immortal. His turn as Tommy is pure volatility, funny one second and a murder machine the next, the kind of role that cements him alongside Casino as untouchable. Watching him work is like watching Dirk Diggler at his peak ,chaotic, magnetic, and impossible to forget.
- tellumAugust 17, 2025I don’t think the story is particularly strong but the 3 main actors all give career defining performances, resulting in some of the most memorable scenes in film.
- JameslikesmoviesJuly 24, 2025Top three favorite movies
- HakihikoJuly 22, 2025A Sharp, Stylish Descent into Crime "Goodfellas" is a masterclass in crime storytelling, brought to life by Martin Scorsese's energetic direction and a gripping script. The film charts the rise and fall of Henry Hill in the mob world, blending dark humor, brutal violence, and unforgettable characters in a way that's both entertaining and unsettling. The cast is outstanding. Ray Liotta holds the center with a strong performance, while Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci are magnetic-Pesci in particular delivers an iconic, intense portrayal. The voice-over narration and fast-paced editing give the movie a distinct rhythm that keeps it engaging even at over two hours. If there's a reason for docking a couple of points, it's that the second half, while still strong, loses a bit of the tight momentum and feels slightly repetitive in places. Still, this doesn't detract too much from what is a brilliantly crafted film with razor-sharp direction, great music choices, and unforgettable scenes. Overall, "Goodfellas" is a stylish, compelling crime drama with fantastic performances. It's easy to see why it's considered a classic-even if not perfect, it comes pretty close.
