- RichardDecember 7, 2025Ghostbusters II brought the team back together and I remember enjoying the ride. The discovery of the river of ectoplasm under New York gave the film a darker, more supernatural edge, while still keeping the humor and charm that made the original so beloved. Seeing the Ghostbusters revive their business and face a new wave of spectral chaos felt familiar yet fun. It didn’t quite capture the lightning in a bottle magic of the first film, but it had its own appeal. The mix of comedy, fantasy and action kept me entertained and before I knew it, the movie was over. For me, it was less about comparing it to the original and more about enjoying another chance to spend time with these characters in their ghost busting world.
- tellumAugust 19, 2025I know I’m in the minority for liking this but I enjoy the characters that much. I guess the plot is technically worse but all these ghosts seem the same to me so it’s all relative.

The cast slips back into their roles with ease, and the chemistry is just as sharp, even if the story isn’t. The villain lacks the bite of Gozer, and the plot gets goofy fast, but the tone stays light and entertaining. The emotional beats land, the jokes mostly work, and the ending delivers that classic over-the-top payoff. A solid sequel that coasts on nostalgia and charisma, and mostly sticks the landing.
