Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai Ratings & Reviews
- gnrrainNovember 16, 2025Good movie overall. Slow at times and I think it could have been tightened up but decent nonetheless. The only thing that really stood out was the ending - I don't think that that was a good way to end it. I understand why it ended that way but as a samurai movie lover, this didn't work for me.
- nicpedersonAugust 23, 2025A rare, special film. Super creative way to bring a book to screen.
- maddiechismJuly 27, 2025this is immediately one of my favorite movies, i didnt expect it to be this good honestly, but i love everything about ghost dog: way of the samurai. the friendship between ghost dog and the french ice cream man is beautiful, they dont understand each other through words or a shared language, but they dont need to for them to have a connection, they spend time together and talk together, its so touchingly human. ghost dog bonding with pearline over books was really heartwarming the pigeons, the fucking pigeons.. ghost dogs reaction to finding them murdered was so real, just such a moving scene, i love birds :( ghost dogs love of animals is beautiful, him icing the bear hunting racists made me very happy, god i love this movie that one mobster loving hip hop so funny to me, the humour in this hits so good and ofc rza went incredibly hard with the soundtrack. that one avant garde saxophone jazz tune kinda sounded like a mosquito but in like a good way. the ending was perfect too, so bittersweet, theres nothing to dislike in this.
