Geronimo Ratings & Reviews
- eif999February 10, 2025it is a shock to the system to see Geronimo played by Chuck Connors in redface with blue eyes. I remember this airing a lot in TV when I was a kid but looking it it today in 2025 in HD widescreen it’s more embarrassingly stupid than offense to see caucasians painted haphazardly and wearing silly wardrobe. The women are painted a lighter shade of brown. The cast is too heavy with future TV stars. Adam West as the stoic soldier, Connors - who to be honest is good in this - as the title character and most far fetched Artemus Gordon forever a sidekick. This has a liberal bend and whenever old Hollywood tried to do good this is usually how it worked out. Bland and more myth than fact. Sill better than the boring 90s attempt at a realistic version of his story. I found the actors were all just fantastic at riding and jumping on and off horses bareback. The memory of Connors riding fast with one hand in the air grasping a rifle was the image I remembered as a kid and is still kind of amazing to see.
