Fred 3: Camp Fred Ratings & Reviews

- Manuel FrangisDecember 2, 2025I just watched Fred 3 Camp Fred and I give it 2 out of 5 stars. This movie had a few funny and silly moments, but overall it did not reach the level of entertainment or charm that it could have had. It tries to bring the same energy that the earlier Fred movies had, but something about this one feels stretched out and not as creative. I could tell the movie wanted to be a fun summer adventure, but a lot of the humor felt repetitive or forced. Even though I went into it with an open mind, the movie never fully grabbed my attention the way it should have. There were scenes that made me laugh because of how over the top they were, but it was hard for the movie to keep that momentum. The cast still gives effort, especially Lucas Cruikshank as Fred. He throws himself into the character like always, and his energy stays high throughout the movie. He has a style of humor that works for certain moments, especially when he commits to the loud, exaggerated reactions that Fred is known for. But even with his performance, the character starts to feel a little repetitive in this movie. The jokes feel like they are trying too hard to recapture the excitement of the original Fred videos. The supporting cast has a few fun moments, but they do not get enough development or personality to make the story more interesting. Everyone plays their part, but the script does not give them much to work with. The setting of the summer camp has potential. A camp theme usually brings opportunities for funny situations, new characters, and creative challenges. But the movie does not take full advantage of that. Instead of building fun camp adventures or believable friendships, it relies on loud jokes and silly conflicts that do not have much depth. There are scenes that feel random instead of connected to the story. Even though the setting is supposed to feel chaotic and playful, it often comes across as messy without a clear direction. One thing the movie does try to explore is Fred feeling out of place and trying to fit in. There are moments where you can see the beginnings of a meaningful message about accepting yourself or dealing with insecurities, but the movie never fully goes for it. Any emotional moment is quickly replaced with another loud joke or another chaotic scene. That makes the story feel uneven. The movie could have balanced humor with heart, but it chooses not to slow down enough to build anything meaningful. It leaves the story feeling shallow. The pacing also feels off. Some scenes drag on too long, while others move too quickly to make an impact. The humor becomes predictable, which makes the movie feel longer than it actually is. The editing and soundtrack try to keep things energetic, but it cannot fully fix the weak script. There are a few creative moments sprinkled in, and you can tell the movie wanted to give fans something fun. But it needed stronger writing, more personality from the supporting characters, and less reliance on the same type of joke. By the time the movie ended, I felt like it had small flashes of fun but never came together as a strong or memorable movie. Fred 3 Camp Fred has energy and a few laughs, but overall it feels like a missed opportunity. It earned its 2 out of 5 rating from me.
