Firstly, realize that this movie is not about race cars. I mean it is, but not in the cinematic way. Pardon the pun, but they are simply vehicles for the story. The true story is with the character characters as it should be. Both Damon and bales performances were excellent and didn't feel contrived. And while the movie is not really about cars, it certainly is about racing. Just watching the 24 hour CanAm race made me tighten up, in the cinematography was not afraid to show just how brutal it is to drive that fast on a track like that. I imagine that drivers who race on tracks that aren't necessarily donuts feel exhausted and beaten up after a race like that because they are just getting thrashed around in there. But above all else, these scenes really made me invested. they even added a few good situational comedy moments that didn't come in the form of corny lines. I cannot speak for how close the story follows the actual lives of Shelby and Miles, it did feel real, thanks in part to a great supporting cast like Caitriona Balfe who played Mollie Miles. All in all, it's a great biopic that was fun to watch wothout it getting stupid. Also, as a bonus, Christian Bale was especially entertaining - great casting choice. I really liked it.

Worth a watch, beautiful cinematographery. Wish they had gone more into the technical details.. One mention of the new engine displayment in the entire course of development.

Vroooooom. Vroooom. The sound of a gas guzzling V8 engine has never sounded so good than in James Mangold’s new buddy film Ford v. Ferrari. This isn’t the type of racing that audiences are used to from the Fast and the Furious series. Crashes are shocking, time is always ticking, and winning is everything. Mangold focuses on the nitty-gritty, real-world meticulousness that it takes to win the most prestigious races in the world. When you finish the movie and get some distance from it, the sound of an engine stays - not just because it thrills and excite, but because it means something more. For the two men we follow in the film, Miles and Shelby, the sound of an engine was a calling, a sound that carried the weight of their existence. They did great things for the world of cars because they felt compelled to. Nothing meant more than following their path. Ford v. Ferrari poses the question to all of us: “What will you do?”

This might just be the most likable character Christian Bale has ever played, and his relationship with Caitriona Balfe is such a lovely centerpiece to this very effective Dad movie.

I really enjoyed this. The racing scene CGI was not of the best quality but the overall feel of the movie was good. I would recommend it.

I’m not big into racing movies, but I might be now. This was so amazing, and the ending had me freaking out. I can’t believe this is based off a true story. Also, the cinematography and music were amazing, and Matt Damon and Christian Bale are always good! 9/10
