Fire Island Ratings & Reviews
- Oʂɯαʅԃσ Rσყҽƚƚ5d agoFairly simple, sweet story about the confusion surrounding self worth and loving yourself. Laughed out loud about five times, mostly at Bowen Yang.
- Kevin WardJuly 4, 2025Did not realize this was an adaptation of Pride and Prejudice until about halfway through when it finally clicked. Also, I would not have expected to have watched this many gay romcoms in a single year, so that’s some promising progress for representation in cinema. Romcoms are not my favorite genre mostly because they have a tendency to be very formulaic. But even though this is another adaptation of a classic story, the LGBTQ+ angle and diverse casting injects a fair amount of freshness into Fire Island. Bowen Yang and Joel Kim Booster both give solid lead performances handling the humor and the drama really effectively. Well worth checking out.
