- Kevin WardJuly 1, 2025A gripping and atmospheric thriller that simmers with tension. Nathan Stewart-Jarrett delivers a fantastic performance as Jules, a Black queer man who suffers a brutal attack. Sometime later, he has a chance encounter with his attacker, Preston (George MacKay), and what unfolds from there had me on edge. Vengeance? Something else? The film weaves in rich themes of identity, homophobia, and power dynamics, keeping the tension razor-sharp throughout. There are some moments, particularly those that involve Preston’s hooligan buddies, that had me completely holding my breath.
