- Benny.west92May 17, 2026As a huge Harry Potter fan who grew up with the franchise and and had the first movies potter movies on VHS tabes I think the first magical beast movie was great but the only thing I was hoping for was that the trilogy would be more connected to the main Harry Potter saga because even though it takes place in the same universe  it’s still felt a bit disconnected with the whole Harry Potter saga.
- carter2882May 4, 2026Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them still holds up on rewatch. - The movie visually looks great with a great 1920s style - The score is really solid - The cast is really stacked and all do a good job - The characters are pretty good - The movie does a good job at setting up the prequel trilogy and more spin-offs to come in the future - The plot isn’t the most memorable - The movie can’t decide what it wants to be weather it wants to be a family friendly pet movie with Newt or a dark mystery film with Credence Overall a really solid entry in the Wizzarding World and still holds up on rewatch.
- M08YApril 17, 2026A solid Harry Potter spinoff that matured with the original target audience. This is a genuinely well meant spinoff taking us away to different stories, with different people in a different time and a different place. It would have been all too easy to rely on established paths but fortunately we don't have to worry about that. The casting department worked magic here, Eddie Redmayne and Dan Fogler are perfectly cast here as the eccentric British wildlife geek and the hard working, slightly downtrodden but larger than life American. I really do love these two. The set work is honestly great here, at no point did I ever think that I was just watching Harry Potter in America, it really feels like it's own little world. The story is mostly one of whimsy on the surface but you can clearly see something darker and more mature underneath. We go from silly little magic creatures accidentally robbing a bank one moment to a tortured young man being manipulated and lashing out at the world, killing multiple people. The audio and visuals are mostly very good here and well worth picking up the 4K Bluray. My only complain is that most of the creatures look like they are on a totally different layer to the rest of the world.
