Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Ratings & Reviews
- DaveMarch 10, 2025Great movie for all around fun. The characters a wierd and engaging, the story was put together well but doesnt lean into the Grindelwald side enough to make him a relivant character at the end. They more than make up for it with a plethora of fantastic beasts, that they now that im typing this never really go into detail on where to find them...... wow..... title a bit off. All in all I enjoyed it a lot and will definetly watch it again.

- RyezooFebruary 16, 2025Fantastic Beasts and Slightly Disappointed. When this film was first announced I was extremely excited to see it. Then when it went from just being 3 movies to 5, I became a little nervous. Lastly the amount of hype being made for the second movie before the first one even came out put up red flags. I I left the press screening feeling very divided about this film. There's so much I loved him a lot I disliked. Let's start off with the positive. Returning to the wizarding world of Harry Potter is as magical as always. The movie just oozes everything we love about the previous films. The new cast is extremely likable and Eddie Redman does a great job as the lead character. The humor also hits the mark 90% of the time. Honestly the best part of the film is the creatures themselves, whether they are adorably cute to look at or just plain astounding. Newts interaction with the creatures top any amount of story this film is trying to tell. I just want it to be said that I'm totally excited for the next film of the series, but I feel where this film let's me down is besides from the world building of the main characters, the main story itself is very weak. Out of the whole main plot the only shining aspect is Colin Farrell's performance. He's an interesting character that I wish you get to spend more time with. I found Ezra Miller's painfully bad and every part of the plot his character was a part of brought the movie down. I'm still trying to wrap my head around why the hell John Voit is in this film. The whole political atmosphere of this movie did not work and the main villain in this film is a CGI force of distraction that we have seen countless times. At the end of the day....I was glad to return to this wonderful world for the characters and atmosphere itself...the story is disappointing, but the positive is where getting more of this great world they set up!
