- Richard Scott LongNovember 19, 2025Silly and unrealistic. Ill go ahead and call it terrible
- bulldog42069May 17, 2025The story itself is awful and devoid of a point. However if you're terrified of heights it'll give you some suspense and sweaty palms.
- jaredmelvin93November 9, 2025It was really good. Had me on the edge of my seat! A definite thriller.
- cadenwillOctober 17, 2025Not a bad movie overall. The writing isn't the greatest, and the stereotypical portrayal of and influencer is annoying, but otherwise, I think it was a good concept. The twist towards the end was unexpected.
- sti53October 14, 2025"Why didn't you catch the bag?"
- jackmeatOctober 9, 2025My quick rating - 6.3/10. Almost forgot about this one. And it didn't take me long to say "F%*k that!!!!" watching what these girls are doing. As you would expect, this does start out with a quick scene explaining our characters and why one of them is very afraid of climbing again. But that was on the side of a mountain. This best friend's bright idea is to climb 2000 feet up a radio tower (which is modeled after an actual structure in Walnut Grove, California). But the KXTV/KOVR probably frowns about people climbing up it so this isn't filmed on location LOL. However, it sure looks scary as hell anyway in scene after scene, making you wonder if these women are insane or just seriously fear nothing. Both Grace Caroline Currey and Virginia Gardner do admirable jobs acting this one through, and without them being believable, the whole thing would've fallen apart. Definitely, one to check out in 3-D IMAX if you have the chance, assuming you want to feel that sick-to-your-stomach dizzy feeling. OK, quick thing that bothered me. I am no pro climber, BUT I don't see how two people tethered to each other and nothing else, climbing vertically up a 2000-foot ladder is safe in the slightest. When I watch free climbing, I always see people attached to one another and also anchoring themselves to the actual mountain. These two are not once attached to any part of the structure, just each other. Ok, I am done with that part, so the movie itself does a very good job of creating tension, especially since they reach the top rather quickly. This also leads to part of the downfall, since there is only so much you can do with that scenario. I will admit that the makers here do bring up a couple of nice ideas to keep you entertained during this, but I just felt like it was fluff to make length. Visually entertaining fluff, though, and worth checking out if you think you can stomach it.
- M08YSeptember 11, 2025Fall is a fairly standard survival horror film that feels similar to the Descent. The acting is fine, the set pieces are (mostly) fine. (More on that later). The characters are reasonably well established and the plot is logically consistant which is a rare thing these days. The script is a bit wonky at times, but I will give the film a lot of credit for setting up every single plot point. The "plot-twist" about 2/3rds of the way through could be seen coming from miles away. The visuals are overally pretty solid but there are few shots where the camera was looking directly down that looked REALLY bad. The 4K bluray is a mixed bag. The well lit scenes look really good, the sunsets and lens flares look really warm and crisp. HOWEVER. The scenes at night look TERRIBLE, genuinely the worst compression artifacts I've ever seen on a 4K, it was on par with a bad torrent. It's a shame that one dark scene let it down so badly. Oh yeah and the audio was fine.
- MatthewAugust 31, 2025I thought over all an enjoyable date night movie.
- MovieMonsterApril 7, 2025Realistic in the sense that this could happen to any adrenaline junkie with no common sense. Unrealistic in the sense of just plain bad acting (pushed and not genuine). Interesting story line but predictable. I think there could be a remake. Better directing, actors, and script. Maybe even a tower with a better view, lol. Come on, Hollywood. Break out a new book of ideas.
- Kevin WardJuly 6, 2025What stands out in Fall is absolutely the cinematography and some of the incredible looking shots that were captured. The imagery works incredibly well to heighten that tension. The stakes are made very clear. You fall, you die. The characters, however, are almost insufferable. I mean, I get it. You have to be able to believe that two people would be stupid enough to attempt this feat and clout-chasing social media influencer might be the only thing that fits the bill. Ignoring the character work, though, I think this film delivers on exactly what it sets out to achieve. IF, you were at all interested in seeing this, it’s probably better enjoyed on the big screen. (This could have been really cool in IMAX, but that probably would have quadrupled the budget). Funny how right now you could do a double feature of Beast and Fall — or Beastfall, the “completely frustrating characters that should listen to their f*#%ing dads, but it’s still worth seeing in theaters because of the gorgeous cinematography” cinematic universe…..or something.
- ayayronApril 6, 2025This is 27 Meters Down just with the risk element inverted
- ChrisOctober 28, 2024"Okay, you've done way scarier than this." - Dan No denying if you have any tiny fear of heights, this movie is nightmare-inducing. The other reason this movie will give you nightmares is the absolutely straight-laced routine story that feels like a template. Just enter new names and new locations and proceed. Really too bad. Performances by Grace Currey and Virginia Gardener were just overwhelmed by the lack of reason to care. One small twist did give me hope, but it just felt planted and was not explored as it could have been. Overall, watch it if you like that uncomfortable feeling of dread. I felt that at every second, someone was falling 2000 feet. That is my biggest fear, and I found myself holding onto my couch just in case.
- Brad.Plex.October 12, 2024I fell for the great suspense and acting. ;)
