It’s Bud Spencer doing what Bud Spencer does best: being grumpy, being huge and dealing with nonsense he absolutely did not sign up for. The movie picks up the same cozy, goofy energy you remember from watching German TV with your parents. Spencer’s sheriff is still trying to live a normal life and the alien kid is still causing chaos with his powers, gadgets and complete lack of understanding of how Earth works. It’s basically the same formula but with more slapstick, more misunderstandings and more moments where Spencer looks like he’s about to retire from humanity altogether. The charm is in the simplicity. No big sci‑fi budget, no complicated plot just Bud Spencer reacting to extraterrestrial weirdness while everyone around him panics and because Spencer carries these films with pure charisma, the whole thing becomes a warm, silly, family friendly comedy that’s impossible to dislike. The humor is gentle, the pacing is easy and the whole movie has that unmistakable 70s/80s European family film vibe. It’s not trying to be clever. It’s not trying to be deep. It’s just trying to make you smile and it succeeds. A light, goofy, nostalgic follow up that keeps the heart of the first movie alive. Not essential cinema, but absolutely essential comfort viewing, especially if you grew up watching Bud Spencer on German TV with your family.
