The heroes of the film are 17-year-old high school students. Ági is interested in school, movement work and getting their string quartet into the WFYS. Olga is interested in clothes, money and men. Pali Kaszás, the handsome practical teacher, takes a liking to Ági, but his disappointment drives him to Olga.
