Enders Game is one of those Books that cool people are always telling you to read and now it's one of those movies too. Super glad they waited for the technology and graphics to be here to make it into a film. This movie is freaking awesome! Even if you know the twist already because those 'cool people's can't keep a secret!

I've read this book, and "Valentine" - the next book, I liked this flick, though, I still liked the book better

Ender’s Game (2013) adapts one of science fiction’s most challenging coming‑of‑age stories, though much of the book’s darker edge is softened for the screen. The original novel explores extreme themes—manipulation, isolation, and the moral weight of using a child as a weapon—and the film touches on these ideas but rarely embraces their full intensity. The central concept of grooming Ender to commit an act of genocide remains controversial and compelling, yet the adaptation feels hesitant to confront its implications. Key moments from the book, including Ender’s lethal encounters with other children, are glossed over, reducing the psychological complexity that defines his character. While the visuals are strong and the cast, led by Asa Butterfield, delivers solid performances, the film ultimately feels streamlined for a broader audience. Ender’s Game is engaging, but it loses some of the unsettling seriousness that made the novel unforgettable.

6.8/17.3 stars Not very good compared to the book. I just can't get over how OFTEN the movie wants us to absolutely know that Ender NEEDS to have sexual intercourse with his sister. That desire is not at all felt while reading.. But that's all we get whilst wartching this audio/visual book on disc. Unusual choice for a story twist to this novel series... The lusting desires of a pre-teen towards his sister... Hmm?! Hopefully the sequels will better follow the story of the books!

Liked very much, am a fan of the book and sequels

As a standalone movie, it's good. Great VFX, a compelling story, and the absurdity of children being forced to do the military's job define this movie. However, it does skip a significant amount from the book, including a lot of political/philosophical themes with Locke and Eratosthenes.

Not as good as the Novel, but decent

First rewatch since release. Loved watching with kids and it’s been long enough since I read the book that it hit all the right nostalgic notes.

About as perfect of an adaptation of that book as you can get

I don’t care what you think about Orson Scott Card, the Ender books are great Sci-Fi and so is this film: an excellent study of the morality of survival vs xenocide set in a Space Opera with excellent sets and CGI.

“Knocking him down won the first fight. I wanted to win all the ones, too. So they’d leave me alone.” - Ender Wiggin Just a fun Sci-fi. 🛰🛸🕹

nice movie, sadly fkd up during the last 10 minutes. the conclusion of the story would barely fit in a series of comics in the first volume. harrison ford was already too mature for the role.
