Elf Ratings & Reviews
- Roderick Vaughn Bridges21h agoSometimes you just need a little bit of a push to get into holiday spirit, or a guy named buddy. Great holiday movie, were they mix for the whole family.
- JM2d agoGreat movie, has become a holiday classic
- 51LV3RApril 26, 2025One of my favorite Christmas movies of all time. It's just not Christmas without Elf in it.
- Q_Prof3d agoWatched it because of the high ratings... Both myself and my wife didn't like it at all. It was too silly and extreme... Probably young kids may like it, but for us adults, it felt like we wasted our time and wished we had watched something else.
- ChrispixNovember 8, 2025THE BEST WAY TO SPREAD CHRISTMAS CHEER IS WATCHING ELF ON MAX VOLUME FOR ALL TO HEAR!!!
- Daryl Williams5d agoGreat Christmas film. 7.8/10
- ርልዪረ6d agoThis was one of my favorite movies in 2003. Will Ferrell is brilliant as the Elf. The supporting cast is great too, especially Bob Newhart as his elf "dad". The characters are well written and it is a refreshing film to get lost in. Will Ferrell plays the elf with such innocence, he is so funny! This is not just a Christmas film but when the DVD comes out I will be watching "Elf" in July. The story progresses nicely, there are many lessons to be learned as you watch this movie. It touched my heart in many ways. I highly recommend this movie for kids AND adults, you won't regret it. Treat yourself and watch this "original" movie. Hollywood needs to make more like this.

- Manuel FrangisDecember 5, 2025I just watched Elf and I give it 5 out of 5 stars. This movie is one of those rare holiday films that never loses its magic no matter how many times you watch it. It has joy, heart, humor, and a message that hits you in a warm and comforting way every single time. From the moment Buddy appears on screen, you feel like you are stepping into a world filled with innocence, happiness, and pure Christmas spirit. Elf is the kind of movie that reminds you of what it feels like to believe in something bigger than yourself, and it brings out that childlike excitement that makes the holidays special. Will Ferrell gives one of his greatest performances as Buddy. He plays the character with so much heart and sincerity that you cannot help but fall in love with him. His innocence is not treated like a joke. Instead, it becomes the emotional center of the story. He reacts to the world with wonder, kindness, and honesty, and those qualities make every scene feel uplifting. He carries the movie with an energy that is both hilarious and heartfelt. It is the kind of performance that stays with you long after the movie ends. The supporting cast adds even more depth to the film. James Caan brings a strong emotional contrast as Buddy’s father. His serious personality makes Buddy’s joy even funnier, but it also creates some of the most meaningful moments in the movie. Zooey Deschanel gives a gentle and calm presence that balances Buddy’s excitement. Her scenes bring a soft, emotional tone that fits perfectly with the story. Even the smaller characters have memorable moments that add charm, warmth, or humor. The whole movie feels alive because every actor gives their role personality. The story has a simple foundation, but the emotional impact is strong. It follows Buddy’s journey of trying to belong, trying to understand the world, and trying to bring happiness to people who have forgotten what joy feels like. There is something touching about the way he sees the world. He notices beauty in things people ignore, and he finds happiness in moments that most adults are too busy to appreciate. That message feels comforting because it reminds you to slow down and appreciate the things that matter. The humor in Elf is perfect. It is silly, wholesome, and full of personality. Buddy’s reactions to everyday situations are hilarious, whether he is trying to follow human habits, exploring New York, or getting excited about Christmas traditions. The jokes come naturally from the characters and never feel forced. Even the physical comedy feels thoughtful because it fits Buddy’s personality. The humor is something that works for all ages without losing depth. The atmosphere of the movie is magical. The decorations, the lights, the music, and the snowy scenes all create a warm feeling that makes the holiday spirit shine. The soundtrack adds a comforting tone that makes the emotional moments even stronger. The movie feels like a warm blanket on a winter night. It has a cozy and inviting feeling that makes you want to rewatch it every December. By the time the movie ended, I felt happy, emotional, and thankful for how well it captured the spirit of the holidays. Elf is not just a Christmas movie. It is a celebration of kindness, joy, and the belief that people can change for the better. It completely earned its perfect rating from me.
