'Dreaming of a family' is about 55-year-old Per and his attempt to reunite his family after a hard life of alcohol abuse. Years ago, Per and his alcoholic girlfriend Christina had a daughter, and he decided to stop drinking. However, the mother continued her abused and as a consequence their relationship ended. She vanished out of their lives. Over the past 8 years, Per's nine-year-old daughter has been in foster care but she visits her dad every other weekend. Per decides his daughter must know the history of her biological parents after he is diagnosed with a serious health issues. He gets in touch with the mother again and they fall back in love. Per's dream of a real family returns.
