The old woman fulfills his excessive demands, but in the fulfillment of his wishes he suffers great setbacks each time. Hans has only one wish left. He comes to his senses and wants to find Princess Marie, who has been cast out of the castle and whose sad life he has encountered in his dreams at night. Only late does he realize that the princess is none other than the goose maid.
