When the university professor Paul learns that he snores and that his wife Angelika is suffering from it, he decides to have an operation in secret. However, towards his wife - with whom he is constantly at odds - he pretends to want to go on vacation to Capri. An admirer of the academic wife seizes the opportunity and claims that Paul is unfaithful to her. Angry, Angelika sets off for the Italian sunny island - and only meets Paul's rival there. Meanwhile complications arise during the operation.
