Der Mann an ihrer Seite
Directed by Matthias TiefenbacherThings could hardly be going better for the attractive, lively Eva and her sensitive husband Max: The two are as in love as they were on the first day, have good jobs and live in a charming little house in the countryside. Eva works as an assistant in a renowned Frankfurt event agency, Max is a talented carpenter. But on the very day that Eva gets the chance from her boss to organize and lead an important conference, Max confesses to her that he has lost his job. At first, the role reversal seems to work reasonably well: Eva advances her career in the busy city, while Max takes care of the household and goes fishing with his friend Uwe. It is only when he cannot find a new job despite intensive efforts that Max becomes increasingly jealous of his wife's professional success. So it happens that the former dream couple grows further and further apart between a career boost on the one hand and a frustrating job search on the other. When Eva is appointed manager, she does not dare to tell her unemployed husband about her promotion. Eva only finds support in her colleague Mona. And as if that wasn't enough of a worry, she not only has to defend herself against her scheming colleague Rebecca in her job, but also keep her important and charming business partner Ralph Stein happy. He has his eye on Eva and doesn't miss an opportunity to court her discreetly but firmly. Of course, it's only a matter of time before Max finds out about his career woman's game of hide-and-seek. He starts to secretly stalk her - and promptly has to watch Eva let Stein invite her to a romantic dinner. A heated argument ensues between the couple, at the end of which both are convinced that there can be no future for them together - or can there?
