- Ecto-1ADecember 2, 2025🎥 Going live… with the dead. 🧟♂️ I was pleasantly surprised by how funny and entertaining Deadstream turned out to be. Normally, I’m not a fan of the jittery, handheld style that comes with most found-footage, or in this case, live stream films, but this one keeps it bearable and even exciting. It’s not going to scare the pants off you, but it delivers just enough tension, scares and comic relief to make it well worth the watch. I’ll admit, I had my reservations at first, but I’m glad I took the time to give it a shot and you should too.
- cyberbillpNovember 27, 2025Just watch it already. Lots of fun.

- Kevin WardJuly 5, 2025Believe it or not, I found Shawn (Joseph Winter) to be way more annoying than Annie Hardy in Dashcam. And even though there have been more films featuring social media influencers this year than comic book movies, Deadstream is actually a really good tome. It takes a while to get started, but I kind of loved it showing Shawn setup all his cameras. It added a good amount of realism to how this footage was actually captured. Once all his cameras are setup though, the chills and thrills that are thrown our way are super entertaining and surprisingly varied. Legitimately scary at times and downright hilarious at others, this is a really fun watch if you’re not burnt out on found footage horror or social media influencer tropes. Plus, even though I found Shawn to be more annoying than Annie Hardy, there’s solace in knowing Shawn’s not a real person.
- LivewireAdminOctober 14, 2025This movie is dumb fun with some jump scares scattered throughout lol It's pretty similar to Dashcam in tone however I would say Shawn is slightly more likeable than Annie....only slightly. Annie is probably the more capable protagonist. The format is really unique here in that it plays on youtube and influencer culture, down to the halfhearted apologies lol def watch this one if you're looking to laugh while also being startled. letterboxd: FilmPhanPA
- jackmeatSeptember 27, 2025My quick rating - 6.4/10. If nothing else, our "hero" Joseph Winter is pretty damn funny. Not to mention the fact that he is the writer/director and star playing Shawn Ruddy, an internet celeb facing his fears online. I know this may surprise you, but this is actually a really well-made found footage-type flick. I am aware I absolutely loathe these types of flicks, but when they are done right, it makes it that much better. The movie starts off as a straight-up comedy about heading into a haunted house for the night, and the obvious jokes and scares are set up only to be interrupted by one-liners. This all works out quite well, even when they bring in the stalker fan, Chrissy (Melanie Stone), who shows up on site. The two stumble around the desolate haunted house until they destroy some symbol, and then all hell breaks loose. There are tons of nods to Sam Raimi and the classic Evil Dead here, and that is not a comparison I throw around lightly. The top of the spirit board has "Klaatu Verata Nikto" written on top for one example. I am not saying it is on that level, but it is a clear mix of that type of horror comedy mixed with the new world of influencers and found footage. To marry the two in a low-budget indie is not a totally new approach, but to do so with this much success sure is. The effects are done so well to make the scares look that much better, and a very creative use of gore throughout to appease all frames of horror fans. For the budget they had, they completely utilized every bit of it and made for a great #shocktober viewing. Definite diamond in the rough from Shudder, and hopefully this will be a step in the right direction for their original flix going forward.
- Marcelo ScatenaSeptember 5, 2025It's impressive what they accomplish with this movie with a low budget. Really cool take in found footage, which feels like a horror videogame most of the time. All while being completely dumb and funny, with a very unlikable main character. I had a really good time watching this. It does have way more jump scares than it needs to.
- C1ncyst4r09April 27, 2025Pretty fun unique found footage.
