⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Dead Over Heels: An Aurora Teagarden Mystery When the past comes calling, it rarely knocks. Review: Dead Over Heels leans more heavily into Aurora’s personal life than some of the earlier entries, and that shift works in its favour. Instead of stumbling into a random crime, this time the mystery follows Aurora home, forcing her to confront unresolved pieces of her past. It gives the story a bit more emotional weight while still staying firmly within the cosy-mystery lane the series is known for. Candace Cameron Bure continues to be effortlessly watchable as Roe. By this point in the series, the character feels fully formed — confident, inquisitive, and just stubborn enough to keep digging when she really shouldn’t. The supporting cast remains a big part of the charm, particularly Marilu Henner, whose mix of maternal concern and quiet pride adds warmth without smothering the story. The mystery itself is straightforward but effective. It’s not designed to outsmart you with shocking twists; instead, it slowly tightens the net around its suspects, letting the tension build naturally. The pacing is steady, the clues are fair, and the resolution feels logical, which is exactly what you want from this kind of series. What really stands out here is how comfortable the formula has become. Dead Over Heels doesn’t try to reinvent the Aurora Teagarden wheel — it just executes it cleanly. That consistency is likely why you’re realising you enjoy the series more than you thought: it delivers exactly what it promises, every time. Pairing: 🍪☕ A hot drink and something baked — easy, comforting, and perfect for settling in while small-town secrets unravel.
