Meagan Good looked SOOO pretty in this movie, I always had a crush on her growing up. It’s just fun to watch and I can watch OVER & OVER again, & I won’t get tired. We need more fun film like this. I recommend watching this with friends.

Jamie Foxx, Dave Franco, and especially Snoop Dogg are an absolute blast to watch, making even the most familiar action-comedy beats feel fresh and entertaining. It's a movie that knows what it is and leans into it wholeheartedly, resulting in a thoroughly enjoyable ride.
- Kevin WardJuly 6, 2025Day Shift opens with a pretty impressive action sequence. Actually, there are a few other good action scenes as well. Unfortunately, everything In between consists of a lackluster story, terrible dialogue and some of the most forced world building I’ve ever seen. Poor Dave Franco is tasked with 99% of this world building via some word vomit exposition dumps. In some of the worst dialogue moments, Franco practically has to read encyclopedia entries of vampires types, recite vampire killer union codes, and pretend he loves The Twilight Saga. It’s one of his worst performances I’ve seen from him but I’m going to chalk it all up to the script. That being said, I had a reasonably fun time with this. The action set pieces are surprisingly good. But when Snoop Dogg throws up the double M-Fers, forms them into a “W” and says “West Side for Life”, how do you not give at least 3 stars for that?
