Das Boot Ratings & Reviews
- Rob MacKinnonFebruary 27, 202680’s Blind Spots & Selected Rewatches Year by Year No. 56 I always loved the SCTV parody of this film, even though I had never seen the original. “Das Boobs” was a mashup of “Das Boot” and “Porky’s”, in which the German navy has gone co-ed, and the sailors attempt to help “Pee Wee” (Martin Short) lose his virginity while serving on the u-boat. Hilarious. The real movie is gripping, intense and suspenseful. Extremely well made. I watched the 3.5 hour director’s cut in German with English subtitles.
