- 匚卂尺ㄥJuly 10, 2025A new Rocky for a new generation… Creed is exhilarating, inspiring, emotional, beautifully acted and brilliantly choreographed while also honouring the previous Rocky films lovingly! The respect it shows to the originals is characterised by a moving tribute to the classic Rocky Steps scene that brings a genuine lump to the throat… Every performance in Creed feels so genuine and human. Michael B Jordan inhabits the role of Adonis Creed perfectly! He’s full of confidence and swagger when in the ring, but vulnerability and passion outside of it, especially when he’s with his girlfriend played fantastically by Tessa Thompson. Now, we come to Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Balboa himself… What can I say about this man? Stallone is a legend! In his signature and arguably his most iconic role, he absolutely knocks it out of the park here in what is easily his best performance in his career as an actor! He honestly deserved that Oscar he was nominated for! There is one scene where Rocky is confronted with horrible news and the subtlety of his emotions is unlike anything we’ve seen from Stallone before… He brought genuine tears to my eyes on multiple occasions and he still has that same relatable charm from his younger days as this character. He comes on to the screen with a warm glow and a heavy heart, carrying all the weight of this character. These films have always been as much about Stallone as they are about Rocky, his own life mirroring the character’s inspiring underdog story that we all know and love! The biggest compliment I can give this film is just how human it all feels, you can genuinely feel every ounce of emotion from these two actors pouring through every single shot. The film moves with effortless confidence. The gorgeous cinematography is gritty and realistic, with a stunning grey and black palette. It’s filled with long takes that immerse you in the realism of the world. There is a particular fight that is filmed in an unbroken sequence, with the camera floating to-and-fro amidst the action! The choreography is absolutely stunning to watch as the intensity is unbroken, allowing you to feel the weight of each punch and jab! An unexpected masterpiece!
- Mister ArnMay 14, 2025After the last Rocky movie (Rocky Balboa) I swore never again would I watch Stallone in yet another remake. Still I found myself watching and to my surprise it wasn't bad. Maybe my expectations were so low it, it seemed better than it was. It's a copy of the first film, yet it's also a tribute to all the Rocky films that were remakes before it.
- Denis KayApril 26, 2025It's exactly what it promises to be. I was entertained.
- Kit LazerFebruary 15, 2025It gets better every time.
- RyezooFebruary 14, 2025Never realized how many amazing one take shots Ryan Coogler did. The score is so good and so is the acting. Excited to watch the sequel.
