Creature from the Haunted Sea is Roger Corman’s low-budget attempt to blend ’60s style Cold War espionage with monster movie parody, but the result feels more like a muddled mess than a clever spoof. I went in hoping for the magic found in some of his other films, but came up empty. A few scattered moments hint at what it could’ve been, but not nearly enough to make the time spent feel worthwhile.
