Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 Ratings & Reviews
- mickerdooJuly 5, 2025I really felt like they captured the spirit of the first and kept it going in this one. Clever food animals, silly stuff and a new bad guy.
- DdoughnutMay 14, 2025This film is mangreat. Get it, because like mango. Because this film makes food puns. Okay, I'll shut up
- Manuel FrangisApril 16, 2025I just watched Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, and I give it 5 out of 5 stars. This movie is pure fun. It is colorful, creative, full of heart, and one of those sequels that actually builds on what the first movie did instead of just repeating it. The animation is awesome, the characters are lovable, and the world they explore is one of the most imaginative I have ever seen in an animated movie. The story picks up right after the first movie, with Flint and the gang returning to Swallow Falls — but now, the food machine has evolved. It is creating living food creatures, and the island has turned into a full-on food jungle. I am talking about shrimpanzees, tacodiles, mosquitoasts, and all kinds of ridiculous and hilarious foodimals. It is like someone mixed a food court with Jurassic Park, and it totally works. Flint Lockwood is back and still dreaming big, but this time he is dealing with fame, pressure, and the idea of what success really means. He is recruited by his childhood hero Chester V, who runs a huge tech company and promises to help clean up the mess — but obviously, things are not what they seem. It becomes a story about loyalty, friendship, believing in yourself, and not letting someone else take credit for what makes you special. The animation is next level. Everything is bright and full of life. The foodimals are creative and hilarious, and the way they move and interact with the world is super fun to watch. The jungle setting is packed with little visual jokes and clever designs. It feels like the animators were having a blast with this one, and that energy comes through in every scene. The humor is right up my alley. It is goofy, fast-paced, and packed with puns — and yes, I know food puns are supposed to be cheesy, but that is what makes them great. This movie leans all the way into the silliness, and it works. I was laughing at everything from the way the pickles talk to the giant cheeseburger spiders. It is all so dumb, but also so clever. And it is the kind of humor that works for both kids and adults. The returning characters are still awesome. Sam Sparks is smart and supportive, and she balances out Flint’s chaotic energy perfectly. Brent is hilarious, Steve the monkey is still stealing scenes with one word, and Earl brings the perfect amount of intensity. Even the minor characters get their moments to shine. And Chester V? He is such a weird villain in the best way — all yoga moves and fake smiles and creepy enthusiasm. He fits the vibe of this world perfectly. I give Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 5 out of 5 stars because it is a fun, creative, and totally original animated movie that made me laugh and smile the whole way through. It has a lot of heart, tons of personality, and a world that I genuinely wanted to explore more of. Overall Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 is a fantastic follow-up that takes everything great about the first movie and cranks it up with even more imagination and fun. It is weird, silly, sweet, and totally my kind of movie. I had a great time watching it, and I know I’ll be coming back to it again.
