- James SaenzJune 15, 2026i now have context for the scene where the president tries to communicate with the spaceship in monsters vs. aliens. genuinely fascinating focus on human nature’s desire for truth and the obsessive lengths to which people will go to discover it, but having seen the fabelmans now i also see it as a way to work through a traumatic divorce and to give some sort of reasoning to the unexplainable decisions parents make; spielberg using fantastical plots and a higher purpose as a way to work through the deterioration of relationships and the formations of new ones outside of the core family.

- PhysicalMedia4Life5d ago🛸👽 Close Encounters Of The Third Kind is one of my all time favorite movies, and its my 2nd favorite "Steven Spielberg" movie. I absolutely love this film, from its spectacular looking visuals to the emotionally heavy journey that our lead character goes on "Roy" played masterfully by the great "Richard Dreyfuss." The way that Spielberg directs and the way that he frames certain shots, is one of the components into what makes this a great movie to both watch and look at. It's also edited together seamlessly. That whole sequence in the last half hour of the film; when and where the smaller ufo's and the mothership interact with the scientists through music, is absolutely a great spectacle to watch and listen to. This for me is one of the best 3rd acts to a movie of all time. It feels totally earned, we only see the ufo's in small doses, before that spectacular last half hour of the movie. It has such a great payoff quality about it. The visual effects here even in 2026 still hold up, its amazing to look at. Imagine watching this 1977 and how revolutionary this must have been at that time. I can't even begin to imagine. The combination of practical effects, the lighting and colour palettes really mesh together with the films brilliant cinematography. This movie has a great presentation about it, with its sequences & visuals. Steven Spielberg was on fire 🔥 and shown off the back of my favorite movie that he's ever directed "Jaws," that he was going to be the GOAT 🐐 Director!!! John Williams musical score really elevates this film to a stratosphereic level. The musical score in "Close Encounters Of The Third Kind" is amazing to listen to. The iconic five-note musical sequence becomes much more than a memorable piece of music; it represents communication as I mentioned earlier between two entirely different forms of life. Its so POWERFUL!!! Overall, "Close Encounters Of The Third Kind" is one of " Steven Spielbergs" greatest achievements, that's how great this movie is. This is just a timeless, science-fiction masterpiece, that reaches for the stars and invites us to imagine the impossible. 👽🛸✨️

- ርልዪረFebruary 23, 2025Aside from Spielberg`s auspicious groundbreaking genius, I notice strong undertones of plot. The first of these is the scene where the air traffic controllers tactfully refrain from verbally ratifying and documenting UFOs on their radar screens , conveying the sense, to me, that these things might actually happen in real life. Secondly, the plight of the main character who ulitimately agrees to be abducted by the aliens after abductees are returned. On his way to this happening, he is separated from his family whom he abandons because of a mental illness created by his psychic connection with the extraterrestials and he even connects with another woman on a personal level, who is also affected by this phenomenon. Finally I would say that Spielberg points out that these things happen all over the world and, that powerful people with specialist authority and knowledge are already engaged with this anomaly. All in all, this film is a challenging white knuckle ride but, in an exhilarating and secure kind of way.
