Catch Me If You Can Ratings & Reviews
- TanalienJanuary 9, 2025Spielberg brings his special touch to the table and maintains the thrill of the chase throughout the film. Composer John Williams brings his usually excellent touch to the proceedings with a gorgeous score brimming with jazz riffs and some lovely musical cues. The score is emotionally moving when needed and great at upping the tempo. The film also features Nat King Cole's masterpiece: The Christmas Song. I never knew the song before this film, but now I listen to it every Christmas - and every time I finish this film. Catch Me If You Can is an emotional drama that is so easily watchable, you get lost in the movie. Then two hours later, you realize: "Wow, that was awesome!"
- ayayronApril 6, 2025Frank Abagnale playing the long game as it later turned out his story was largely fabricated
- mickerdooJune 29, 2025One of the most romanticized criminal stories I can think of. The power to be anyone you want with unlimited money. So great. Stellar cast!
- Wheatley_CinePLEXMay 25, 2025A movie classic and an all-star cast.

- Dave BarnesMarch 5, 2025A great movie with a compelling story. Funny, fast, exciting and well acted.
- Manuel FrangisMarch 25, 2025I just watched Catch Me If You Can and I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars. This movie is such a cool ride from start to finish. It is fun, smart, fast moving, and based on a true story that is almost too wild to believe. The mix of great performances, stylish direction, and real emotional moments makes it stand out as one of the most entertaining crime dramas I have seen. Leonardo DiCaprio is incredible in this role. He plays Frank Abagnale Jr., a teenager who becomes one of the most successful con artists in history. The way he pulls off identity after identity, fakes his way into high level jobs, and stays one step ahead of the law the entire time is crazy to watch. DiCaprio brings so much charm and confidence to the character but also shows the sadness and loneliness underneath it all. Tom Hanks is just as good. He plays Carl Hanratty, the FBI agent trying to track Frank down. He is smart, serious, and determined to catch him no matter how far he runs. The cat and mouse game between them is the heart of the movie and it is done perfectly. You can tell they respect each other in a weird way and that adds a lot of depth. The pacing is great. The movie moves quickly through all of Frank’s schemes without ever feeling rushed or confusing. You go from one identity to the next, one city to the next, and it always stays interesting. Whether he is pretending to be a pilot, a doctor, or a lawyer, it is just fun to see how far he can take the lie. The style of the movie is one of my favorite things. Steven Spielberg directed it and he brings a slick, confident vibe that matches the main character perfectly. The title sequence is super cool, the music fits the time period, and everything just looks and feels polished. It captures the 1960s setting without being over the top about it. There is also a lot of emotion under the surface. It is not just about cons and running from the law. It is also about family, loneliness, and trying to find your place in the world. Frank’s relationship with his father, played by Christopher Walken, is emotional and really well done. That storyline adds a lot of weight to the movie. The reason I give it 4.5 instead of a full 5 is just because it does feel a little long at times. There are a couple moments where it slows down more than it needs to. But honestly that is a small thing in a movie that gets so much right. The acting, the writing, the true story behind it all—it just clicks. You are watching a kid fool the world while also watching him try to hold on to some kind of connection or meaning in his life. It is a great mix of crime, drama, comedy, and emotion. Overall Catch Me If You Can is a stylish and exciting movie that proves real life can be just as wild as fiction. DiCaprio and Hanks are both at the top of their game and the story is just endlessly fascinating. I had a great time watching it and I can definitely see myself rewatching it again and again.
- The Gutter MonkeyMarch 23, 2025Fun, funny, and entertaining. Though, I'd take the "true story" claim with a hefty grain of salt. It's Frank Abagnale's word we're going on here, after all.
- RyezooFebruary 20, 2025I honestly don't know why I haven't seen this movie yet being that I absolutely love Leonardo DiCaprio and Steven Spielberg. It's incredible that this is based on a true story. Watching this, I honestly had no idea where it would go or when it would end. The supporting cast also were great, especially Christopher Walken. I loved the chase and the ending. Amazing film
