Marvel's version of Superman, and easily the worst character in the MCU. It's set in the 90's yet offers very little nostalgia, missing out on some golden comedic opportunities.

OK it had its moments but this is mostly just bad. I saw this at the cinema and had to go to the toilet. The toilet and drying my hands was more memorable than this movie. Girl boss but plot was just 👎.

    Goose was my favorite character

One of the more interesting origin stories in the MCU, and the timing of its release couldn’t have been better!

This movie does a good job of adding lore to the overall MCU, but outside of that its a bit modest. Its by no means terrible, but also comparatively even to some of the non MCU marvel films it kind of feels like its going through the motions narratively speaking. That being said when watched after Agent Carter it does a fair amount to build off some of the historical story beats that were established. While this might be seen as woke propaganda by some. In the larger picture it makes the MCU feel a little more grounded and real. Where that universe tends to mirror the progressive pace of our own.

    ## Synopsis Carol Danvers doesn't know who she is. She also doesn't realize that the war she is fighting in, isn't what she thinks it is. ## Review The chief complaint for this movie and EVERY SINGLE TIME she shows up is the inconsistency in her powers. She can do so much, but a little micro chip is stopping her? then a little anti-gravity fan stops her at full form, but not in the end. It is just unbearably frustrating. The action, while frustrating is exciting. You do get to have some comedic fight scenes and the inevitable plot armor along with it, but in general, I really enjoyed watching them. The best one is where Carol punches the old lady in the train and they have a little brawl. Just fun to watch. The acting is alright. I am not thrilled or upset by it. It does have the feeling of being on par with the Marvel world at this point. Maybe that is part of why this movie didn't do so well. The formula in the writing and the acting has had 15 movies or something like that to get it all together. Now they are comfortable in their process. ## [My Rating] This isn't a bad movie, but it sure isn't good. It needs some life to it. The acting is nothing special so you constantly feel like you are looking for someone to step up. However, they all hide behind the comedy rather than leaning into the anger and fear. I think a 7 is appropriate. ## [Parental Rating] Nothing here is too much. No nudity, language is light, and the blood is blue. I think my Mom would appreciate the "Girls are just as strong" theme in this, but probably wouldn't watch it on her own. My dad would watch, but wouldn't care either way. We will say approved by both, for being kind of bland.

I think it upholds the Marvel name well enough. Not my favorite in the universe. Love Brie Larson, though.

There isn't anything overly special about it, but it's a fun, new, and bold addition to the MCU.

The jury says 2 stars, 1 as she is hot and 1 for SLJ but zero for the movie.

A Solid Introduction "Captain Marvel" serves as a solid introduction to one of the MCU's most powerful heroes, expanding the universe into more cosmic territory while keeping the story relatively grounded in its character journey. The film works best when focusing on the mystery surrounding Carol Danvers and her search for identity. The gradual discovery of her past gives the narrative a steady momentum, allowing the story to unfold piece by piece rather than revealing everything at once. Visually, the movie embraces its cosmic elements while also leaning into a nostalgic atmosphere through its setting. The action sequences are energetic and well executed, even if they sometimes rely on familiar superhero beats. The performances are good overall, helping the characters feel engaging and approachable. The film balances humor and action fairly well, keeping the tone light without losing the emotional core of the story. If there is a weakness, it's that the plot follows a fairly predictable structure and doesn't push its themes as far as it could have. Still, the movie remains an enjoyable and competent addition to the MCU, successfully introducing an important new hero.

I've watched every Marvel movie but this one didn't catch me. I watched it the second time and the same evaluation remained. Something is missing, something is strange. The character is not bad, maybe it's me that can't find a way to relate or like the character.

Hmm it's an interesting one.. tbh Capitan Marvel isn't my favourite. But like all the Marvel movies it makes you laugh and it does have its enjoyable characters.
