- John ChapelJune 21, 2026I like Theo, and I love Spade, but this is a prime example of the value of proper writing is different than the value of being funny. Put it this way: Spades dinner parties are best when someone else has done the cooking. It's just bad. It's so all over the place and nobody in this movie seems to want to be in this movie. It's very hard to make sense out of anything or understand what is going on or why anyone is doing anything they're doing. But whatever, it's Theo and Spade, they can do what they want. I love them. But this is skippable. The drug dealers at the pizza place though? Absolutely hilarious.

Also him trying to act like Tim Robinson was so cringe. A few talented comedic actors that could have chosen better! The central plot feels like they’re making fun of trans people more than endorsing them so that’s not great What the fuck was up with built-in captions for the “urban English” being spoken smfh David Spade loves having women significantly younger than him be into him lol Incredible choice of song for the closing credits.
